An additional one-hour personal tour of the homestead home!
See inside the one-room cabin built in 1850, the root cellar, and the old wells to get a glimpse into life on the homestead over 100 years ago. (Our farm was listed on the very first plat book in the county.) Also, hear stories of the past, such as how the homestead fed hungry wagon travelers in the mid-1800s as they traveled west over the Wabash River from Fort Harrison to the next stop at the now-historic "5-Mile House" in rural Charleston, IL. Learn about how the homestead played a role with the famous outlaw, Al Capone, in the 1920s and 30s!
This upgraded tour will begin at 1:30 after the morning tour lunch.
Unlike the personal tour above, your tour would be shared together with strangers. The ticket price will be $35/person. Stay tuned for more details in early 2027!
